Surface Decoration on Clay Course

A six-week evening course Sept 22 – Oct 27th 6.45-8.45pm with Anne McManamon @Kinsalepottery

This course is a great additional course to our ten-week ceramic course. This course gives an overview of many surface decoration techniques on clay. It looks to explore how we can enhance, inform, and push our practice with clay through surface decoration.

In this six- week course you will learn:

• sgraffito

• Mono print

• slip trailing                                     

• tissue transfer

• colouring clay

• colouring with slip

• resist techniques

  About Anne McManon
  Anne has a degree in Fine Art Ceramics from GMIT Galway, graduating in 2009. There she learned an array of ceramic making techniques, specializing in slip casting. Since her studies she has worked for studios abroad and in Ireland.

  Anne’s artistic practice and teachings are in hand-building and surface decoration with an emphasis on the integration of form and colour.
