One-day Portrait Sculpture course

Class description:

Have you ever fancied making a life-sized head and shoulders portrait sculpture of a loved one, or perhaps a famous person

This unique new course at Kinsale Pottery allows you to bring images and work on a head and shoulders for a day. Your sculpture will be fired after the course.

On this one day course you will learn how to:

Construct the form of a head and shoulders using coiling

Understand the proportions of faces

Sketch and make a maquette for your sculpture

Make the portrait recognisable

The day runs from 10am to 5pm and has a one hour break to drop into town and sample the delights of Kinsale's great cuisine, or bring your packed lunch to eat at the pottery.

Your portrait will be biscuit-fired within 2 weeks of the class, with the option for high firing unglazed or burnished for smoke firing
